Introduction
Paraxeno Daimonio (@paraxenod) is a multidisciplinary artist who has been practicing photography since 1986 and painting since she was a child. Outside of NFTs, she creates jewelry, crocheted hats, blankets, and face masks. Paraxeno continues to add more tools to her arsenal, most recently exploring AI artwork, JavaScript, and CSS. She often uses her art for social causes, with a focus on environmental and humanitarian activism.
Inspiration
Paxenos is inspired to make something beautiful out of everything, even when investigating difficult issues in her work. Reflecting on her creative process and the relationship between photography and painting, she highlights the how art is inseparable from the artist:
"Like thought or breathing or heartbeat, expressing moments, feelings, and ideas by using everything available. Painting and photography are lost, one inside the other. I've been trying to paint using the camera as a brush, and light as colors."
#TezQuakeAid
Immediately after the earthquake, Paraxeno took action. She messaged all people she could who might be able to set up a fundraiser and minted 2 works before the #TezQuakeAid contract was put together.
Her deep concern for neighbors in Turkiye and Syria comes from first hand experience through a major earthquake, understanding the enormity of the needs and that they will persist for a long time. She was able to gather bits of useful info from friends in Turkiye such as where to donate. She's thankful that she's been able to make contact with almost all of her friends other than one that remains missing.
"Hope emerges from the ruins #8" is Paraxeno's official piece for the #TezQuakeAid contract. 100% of primary sales and 50% of the royalties from secondary sales will be donated to the fundraiser wallet. At the time of writing this, there are 3 editions available on primary at a price of 5 XTZ each.
Paraxeno has minted 3 other pieces to benefit the #TezQuakeAid fundraiser as well. "Hope emerges from the ruins #4" is donating 100% of primary sales and 90% of secondary royalties with 1 copy available on the secondary at 123 XTZ. "Hope emerges from the ruins #6" is also donating 100% of primary sales, with 50% of secondary royalties going to the fundraiser wallet with 4 editions available at 4 XTZ each. "The rescue, life persists" is giving 100% of primary sales to #TezQuakeAid, with 3 copies available at 4 XTZ each.
