Introduction
Since mid-June, Pakistan has been suffering from catastrophic flooding. The total damage is still being tallied as water levels slowly return to normal, but it's clear that the recovery is going to be a long and arduous one. Here are some statistics to consider:
- More than 10% of the country is underwater
- Almost 2,000 people have died as a direct result of the flooding, an additional 12,000 injured, and over 32 million people displaced
- 2 million homes destroyed or damaged
Together with TezTown and Teia we're helping to organize the #SavePakistan event, which is a community-wide effort to raise funds for Pakistani flood relief. The homepage of Teia now has a Pakistan section that will give you a feed of all recent event items, or you can use the #SavePakistan event page from the TezTok team.

Our plan at DNS is to feature as much content as we can from the #SavePakistan event. Throughout the week we'll be showcasing #SavePakistan artwork, recommending the creators who are participating, and building playlists to feature specific styles or single creators.
What's Next
We'll begin to start featuring items and artists from the event on our homepage and promoting, but it's going to require all of us to make this a truly successful event. The people of Pakistan are facing a gargantuous task, but it doesn't make the small contributions any less meaningful.
